Michael Waltz was raised in North Dakota. He attended Minnesota State University Moorhead (2017) and while enrolled there took a semester at Philadelphia University (2016) through National Student Exchange. Since North Dakota he has lived in Moorhead, Philadelphia, Berlin, and Minneapolis. He currently lives in Minneapolis where he works from his dining room studio.
